The Comeback

Thought i'd ditched this blog? Me too. Sigh........i seriously want to write, A LOT. But not only will i use the excuse of life with 2 kids being insanely busy, i will also use the fact that once baby boy was born, getting our coffee shop open & going kicked into high gear and now that it IS open, well, i can't think of any words to describe beyond "insane" but whatever that word is, that is what life has become.

I am UBER disappointed in myself however. This blog was meant to be a scrapbook per-say for memories of my kids, and especially milestones ect. of Octaveus. I was so bound & determined that being i didn't document anything of Emelyne's and being Tavey is our last child that i really would do this, yet i've failed. So bare with me as i try to squeeze every ounce of memory out of my ever so failing brain, and fill in the pieces of things that have happened over the last 3 1\2 months since my last post. Blerg! Ok ready?

I believe in the last post, i said something along of lines of praising my champion sleeper baby boy and as a result i myself feeling rather good these days. ------- Cut to 3 1\2 months later and i'd like to slap myself from 3 1\2 months ago. Or at least warn myself about 3 1\2 months from now. Sleeping took a turn for the worse, and that does not mean just Tavey's but ALL of us. Emelyne was a super duper sleeper from 7 months old - 4 years, and about the same time aparently my kids got together and formed an alliance against me to see how many times they can wake me at night. And i'm telling you, if i could vote them outta the house from 8pm-8am i TOTALLY would. So i will stop talking about this issue now and i will sum it up by saying we are working on it and hoping it gets better...SOON!

I'm already getting weepy looking thru the pics i want to post and comparing them to the pics of Tavey on the blog so far. He's def not a newborn anymore. He hasn't been for quite a while. This boy is seriously growing leaps and bounds faster than h
is sister ever did and it's leaving me reeling everyday about it. Does anyone else think that it's legitimately wrong that my 4 month old is MORE than half the height of his 4 1\2 year old sister? Well, he is. He's grown over 5 inches since birth. Yep, more than an inch a month. He's over 26 inches now, 15 1\2 pounds. He is the EPITOME of a rolly polly baby. Chubby cheeks, squishable thighs, big giggles & smiles, plays with his feet (and tries to eat them), and loves to blow bubbles and babble. I don't remember Emelyne fitting in to many of the baby cliches. It could just be my awful memory. But Tavey seriously fits in to every cliche. He is SO so SO smiley. Strangers really do comment everywhere we go about how happy he is. He LOVES being talked to. He is SUPER ticklish. He loves the "b" sound. (Like if you say "chuBBy BaBy Boy, Boom Boom Boom!, & Bump Bump Bump, he will laugh) He loves when you make goofy noises. He loves lying on his back grabbing onto his feet and trying to get his toes in his mouth. He loves kisses. He loves to be sang to. He loves doing ab crunches. Seriously, when you put him on his back and will NOT lay down, he constantly tries to sit up, and as a result has abs of steel already. He loves bath time. He loves his big sister. He loves NOT being still. He does not like loud noises. He does not like trains. He does NOT like sleeping. He does not like not being held often. He does not like tummy time. Oh yeah, and he does not like his car seat. (Which makes trips to town or anywhere else realllly fun!) He rolled over for the first time from his tummy to his back right at 4 months old. And no one actually saw him. I was in the other room and came out and he'd flipped over. Now he easily rolls from tummy to back or back to tummy, when he's not trying to sit up that is. And he can actually sit up on his own for a good 4 seconds before falling backward, sideways, or forward. His new thing that he just started yesterday: squealing\shrieking\screaming. It's not a very nice noise. We're hoping he is just discovering his voice in new ways and will move on quickly. He is getting in to the throws of teething, drooling up and storm and chomping on anything and everything that gets near his mouth. And hair pulling. And grabbing everything in his vicinity. I am so so sad to realize that i don't have a little baby that i can just hold and stare adoringly at. He's already to the point where you must clear the area of the table when you sit down to eat, put away the books from your lap while at the meeting (unless you want the pages torn out), and remind your 4 year old to NOT put her face anywhere near his hands or she will lose some hair.

I will try to think of more, and actually write about it here. For now, i am already tired of typing, and i've used a precious 20 minute nap + playtime on the floor up, and baby is getting attention deprived. So now, prepare yourself for photo overload, as well as cuteness overload, and hopefully i will see you all again soon!
Newbie baby goodness!

Aparently he was thinking very hard right here...

Oh look, this is when he actually did sleep!
