The shopping has begun...

So here's a few pics of a FEW things i've purchase thus far. In some ways it's more interesting to shop for a boy, just because i pour over a lot more things than i do when shopping for Em. I mean, let's face it, practically ALL girls clothes, accessories, ect. are adorable, and easy to find. Not so much with boy things. Unless you're all about sports themes and teddy bears, or skulls (what's UP with all the skull things for boys?!!) you have to really do some searching to find stylish, handsome, fun & adorable boy things. And even harder when you're such a bargain shopper like me. But alas! there IS stuff out there, as i have been having so much fun finding out! Take a peek =)

So the first photo is my absolute favorite find so far! It's onesies with interchangeable accessories, vests, bow ties, neck ties & suspenders. SO fun! SO smart! I will gradually be beefing up my supply of the accessories throughout...well, until Octaveus is 4T and doesn't fit into that stuff anymore. HA! I must share the link, it's a great find for gifts ect., and a great way to support a new stay at home mom. Go here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/NoahsBoytiques
The second photo is also merchandise from etsy.com, homemade flannel burp cloths, SO cheap and SO fun! I love having no-so-run-of-the-mill things, even when it comes to baby items, and etsy.com is such a perfect place to find said items. Third photo is again, from an etsy shop, these are "kerchiefs" or the new & cool kind of bibs to wear, a perfect way to handsome up a onesie! The fourth photo is onesies from Target, but adorable right? Okay, on to a few nursery items so far.
I know it's not the birdcage i was wanting but i'm still over-the-hill excited about it (and Aaron likes it too) this is the light i went with for Babe's room, from Ikea:

This is a lamp i just couldn't pass up! On clearance at Target, even better! I don't know if i'll keep the same shade, or alter it a bit, we'll see...

This is the rocking chair i purchased off Amazon. I love the size! It's small but it fits me perfectly, and it a lot more comfortable than it looks!

And lastly, i will leave you with a couple photos of the big-sister-to-be. And then, the EPIC video, get ready to laugh your socks off!

How far along? 20 Weeks
Total weight gain: 14 lbs

Maternity clothes? In this weeks picture, yes, but they're cute right?!! =)
Stretch marks? You know it!

Sleep: This time it's been good and bad. I've had a couple really bad night but also have had 2 of the best nights i think i've had since June! So that's promising.
Best moment this week: Getting more baby things in the mail! I can't stop shopping!!
Miss Anything? I miss having my "normal" taste buds. Why is it when your pregnant that things you once loved you don't love so much anymore? And why is it that one week, a certain thing will be SOOO good and appealing and the next week that same thing is awful? So irritating sometimes!
Movement: Yes, like each week that goes by, more and more movement. I think it's just that he's getting stronger & bigger so i feel it more, but man oh man i sometimes wish i could have a camera in there to see what's going on...
Food cravings: I will admit, going back to my "Miss Anything?" question, my beloved sparkling water is NOT hitting the spot anymore, i am craving regular water more than i have so far. Which is a good thing i suppose.
Anything making you queasy or sick: This has probably been the best week so far for sickness. I've felt queasy at moments, BUT it's been very tolerable compared to thus far and no actual losing any of my food to the porcelain throne.
Have you started to show yet: Yes there's definite "bumpage!".
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In, in, in!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: More happy. A little easier to enjoy, WAIT, nope i don't really enjoy anything about being pregnant. (Other than the babe's movement.) But a little easier to pass the time by this week.
Looking forward to: Still in decorating mode! And a baby shower coming soon i hear!

So this week Emelyne wanted to get in on the picture, which i thought was cute! She is completely reconciled to the fact now that she is having a brother not a sister. I'm sure even more so once he's actually here. I will be putting another post on here soon, it being about my fun purchases so far for the babe & his room, and there's a hilarious video of Emelyne that i have to share! So check back soon. And once again, feel free to comment, i'd love to hear from you.

I thought i'd put together a little scrapbook of images that are inspiring the nursery design, feel free to leave comments! Enjoy =)

I am for SURE doing medium dark gray walls, and following the design here of lots of pops of bright color...

My favorite in this photo is the birdcage light, i'm currently hunting online and have found a couple potentials. I also LOVE the mix of patterns here, i'm definitely a mix of funky patterns kind-a-girl.

What i love in these photos is the college of the mirror with the fabrics in the hoop frames. I will be doing this on a wall in the nursery, i already have a mirror and a thousand fabric swatches to narrow down!

I love these ideas for storage. We'll see if it happens or not, not sure how much wall space i will have to hang things.

Instead of hanging a mobile above the crib, i will hang these in different sizes as a mobile. The colors will be pretty similar but i am changing out a few to make it a little more boyish.

So that's the potential nursery so far. I will post pics VERY much later on to show what the final outcome is. Right now we still have a complete demo and remodel to do in his room. Fun fun! It'll be a good winter project to pass the time.

How far along? 19 Weeks
Total weight gain: 14 lbs

Maternity clothes? Still just rockin' the leggings & sweats most days, but yes i do have maternity clothes. None in this pictures though, and not weraing any in last weeks pic either.
Stretch marks? The oldies but goodies from the first kiddo.

Sleep: Still sleeping terribly. Getting very tired of ending up on my back and switching back to my side. Also starting to get stiff when sleeping on my side.
Best moment this week: Yesterday at the long awaited doc appointment. Finding out that everything is OKAY!!
Miss Anything? Too many things. Normal sleep, normal health, not having a restricted diet!
Movement: As usual this little guy is truly a mover & a shaker. I thought Emelyne was active but her brother puts her to shame. I've been able to feel him since week 15, MUCH earlier than i first felt Emelyne. Everyday he is getting stronger, Aaron's felt him move too now. I'm kinda afraid as to what this means for when he's actually born...!
Food cravings: I've just never been a food craver with pregnancy so far. The first 3 months i was kinda craving Taco John potato ole's, but other than that i'd say i crave\need my sparkling water.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Uhm yeah, his name is Octaveus. He's making me much sicker than his sister did.
Have you started to show yet: Yep we passed that mark awhile ago.
Gender: Boy! Really?!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In, and probably will be for a while yet.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: More relief this week, finding out the ultrasound went good. So happy for the time being!
Looking forward to:  More fun nursery decorating, more purchases that i made online coming in the mail and hopefully in about 18 weeks finally meeting our little guy!

So update on the doc visit. Everything went pretty good. She is having them check my thyroid to see if maybe that's part of whats making me sick still. I'll hear back about that in a couple days. The issue with the heart & the ultrasound was that they simply weren't able to see it. They were not able to view the 4 chambers, Octaveus was just not co-operating with the poor gal. Apparently he kept hiding when it came time to check for the heart\measurements. And being there is a partial placenta previa that needs to be followed up on, they figured they mind as well try to get a look at the heart again. So for now there are no concerns or issues. I have yet to have the next ultrasound scheduled but it will be in about 4 weeks, the same time as my next appointment. I will post another blog soon about some of my purchases thus far, i've been having lots of fun shopping so far!

Pregnancy must haves so far...

Okay so this list is more for my memory than anything else, but here's a few items i would not have been able to make it without so far!

1~ Ice mountain sparkling water.
Our tap water and just water in general has tasted SO icky to me since pregnancy began practically. I never had trouble with it before, i've always pretty much only drank water and iced tea, but you know how those hormones make everything whack! I tried drinking water with lemon in it, but it still wasn't cutting it. Then i saw the Ice Mountain Sparkling water on sale at Target one day, and remembering that i love sparkling water, i got some and haven't quit buying it since! It's been a lifesaver when it comes to getting my water down.

2~ What to Expect When Your Expecting book. Cause it's just plain fun to sit and read before bed all about the fruit your baby is the size of that week and compare all your symptoms to those in the book!

3~ Unisom sleep tabs. These have been my other lifesaver! They are actually an antihistamine, very similar to Benadryl and yes they are safe to use during pregnancy. I take, per doctors recommendation, 1\2 a tab before bed every night. I tried to stop taking them around week 18 when i figured the sickness should've been at bay but to no avail. I was super sick again for 4 days, vomiting daily and not able to get off the couch or lift a finger to do anything. So i went back on them and went back to feeling my normal crappy but vomit free self.

4~ Leggings!!! Maternity pants being expensive, and even when comfortable, they're really not THAT comfortable. I almost live in leggings nowadays, and love that i can get them for about $5 a pair! Even as my belly grows, there's plenty of options being Wal-Mart sells these in junior, womans, or plus size. So i'll have a size for every stage!

5~ Lipton Iced Tea (DECAF) My beloved iced tea, i really couldn't go without. And thanks to having a tea maker at home (so cheap! and SOOO worth it!) and getting decaf tea bags, i can still have fresh brewed iced tea any time i want. Hooray for that!

How far along? 18 weeks

Total weight gain: 13 lbs

Maternity clothes? Yes

Stretch marks? Yes, from before

Sleep: Terrible this week. Friday night (night before our assembly) was the worst ever! I wake up multiple times during the night to have to re-position being i wake up on my back. Sigh

Best moment this week: Finding out the Bebe is a BOY! And having all the family here to find out together & celebrate.

Miss Anything? The usual.
Movement: More and more every week now. He is obviously getting bigger and stronger!
Food cravings: None
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not eating when i need to. 3 really sick days this week. Bad headaches this week too have been contributing.
Gender:
BOY - Octaveus Matteao Anderson

Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: None
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Not this week. More concerned and anxious than anything else.
Looking forward to: Having a HEATHLY baby. Seeing him again on ultrasound and finding out everythings okay (hopefully) !

So it was a really good and really BAD week at the same time. We did find out we're having a boy this time! Much excitement over that! Then on Monday i got a call from the doc's office. Apparently at this point i have partial placenta previa, so i am on some restrictions until we can check on ultrasound again. Baby is fine as far as we know at this point, this condition doesn't affect him at all, just the birth would have to be a scheduled c-section. They also mentioned they'd be checking his heart again but no reason as to why. So a bit of mixed emotions. I actually get to see the doc on Tuesday and go over the first ultrasound results with her then, and hopefully we'll be reassured and feel better after that.
